In your game profile, make sure you’ve checked the “EMS” checkbox. Also, though unlikely, the files might be write protected, wbich could cause issues.

I’ve just tested (extracted UW folder from game.gog to my DOS Games directory, launched Magic Dosbox, ran uinstall.exe, set sound card to SBPro), and it’s working just fine.

Regarding the mouse movement, that’s probably an issue with your device cpu vs the cycle settings of the games. When you reach the limit your cpu can handle, things become choppy. Using cycles=max, or, for older games, very low cycles settings, usually helps.

A game like Ultima Underworld runs great at 12000-14000 fixed cycles, that’s about the speed of an old 386/40 MHz.

The GoG releases of DOS games are bundled with either Dosbox, or ScummVM.
Ultima Underworld runs in a Dosbox environment. Here’s what you need to do “extract” it from there:
    – Open the file game.gog with 7zip. It’s a renamed .iso, which in turn is similar to a zip file
    – copy the folder “UW” to the DOS games directory on your phone
    – launch Magic Dosbox, and create a new game profile
    – set “uw.exe” as main program, and “uwsound.exe” as setup file.
    – save profike
    – enter profile settings again, and tap “Setup” in the lower left corner. Comfigure sound with these settings: adress 220, irq 7, dma 1
    – save, quit, then launch the game

Do you have any experience with the PC version of Dosbox? Because if not, we should skip the Expert settings part altogether, and stick with the UI config options.
Meddling with the conf file can lead to countless issues if you’re not quite sure what to do.

And yes, GoG use some weird config schemes, e.g. two or three config files that are combined during the launch process.

Hi, and welcome. To access the advanced settings (aka dosbox.conf), simply scroll down to the bottom of your game profile settings. Tick the “Expert commands” checkbox on the bottom left, then the cogwheel icon on the bottom right, and put whatever commands you like in the conf file.
Don’t forget to accept your changes afterwards, and save your profile.

If you have specific questions about a certain game, you can post them here, along with the settings you’ve tried so far, amd we’ll figure out how to run it.

Basically, every game that works on the PC version of Dosbox will also work in Magic Dosbox.

All you need is either a joystick (“Master of puppets”) long with joystick button widgets, or some key widgets that fit the game’s control scheme. I’d suggest you take a look at the guides on this page: https://magicbox.imejl.sk/widgets/

You can also change the background image for each widget, to create something unique, and fitting your personal taste.

Lol, thanks. I purchased it full price two weeks ago though. But nevermind, I like to support the CDPR group. Purchased Witcher 3 three times, too (GoG, Steam, and Switch).

    1. You need the Win95 folder. Do this:

install Win95 to a 512 MB. Also make sure you have a CD-ROM emulator installed in Win95, such as Virtual Clone Drive
copy iso file(s) to a 2 GB image
mount the 512 MB image as drive C, boot Win95 from this image
mount 2 GB image as drive D.
when Win95 has booted, mount the iso file as drive E with Virtul Clone Drive in Win95. Install the game to drive D

Major advantage of separating Win95 boot image and game installation image: you can install as many games as you like, by using different 2 GB images. In your game profile, simply mount the 2 GB image that contains the correct game data.

For example: I’ve installed C&C Red Alert to one image file, and Diablo to another. I’m keeping both files on my sd card. Now, my C&C profile will boot from an image called Win95.img, and mount a 2 GB image called “RedAlert.img” as drive D.
My Diablo profile will also boot from the same Win95.img file, but mount another 2 GB image called “Diablo.img” instead.

    2. not sure what you mean. Widgets can be removed in edit mode by tapping & holding them, then delete them from the popup menu.

    3. You can’t have more than 2 GB img size and two hard drives. That’s simply a restriction of Windows 95. You can easily circumvent this limitation by using the method I’ve described above though.

The backup file is a zip file that will store all your Magic Dosbox data (settings, profiles, screenshots etc). Store that file in your cloud drive, and should you ever lose or break your phone, simply unzip the contents back to their data location (depending on your “private” or “public” setting), and you’re good to go. 🙂

Sounds like a Dex issue then. Probably no way to circumvent this, if Dex interceps mouse input before it even reaches the app. ?

Seems I’m only making things more confusing. ?
To be more specific, you have to scroll mnouse wheel down. Scroll up will bring up the settings menu.

You mean double pointer only in Dex? Just to make sure, there was a type above – you have to scroll the mouse wheel to hide the cursor, not press it. ?

    Try these files:
    https://www.mediafire.com/file/zpo4x975poe7co6/HDD_Images.zip/file

Correct parameters for each hdd image file is in the included readme.

Lol, you’re right. Though it says .mgc on the download page, it’s saved as .mgc.zip. ?
But you simply need to remove the .zip suffix, that’s all. ?

Must be an error on your end. The download link points to a .mgc file download via Mediafire.
