Al exKeymasterDaggerfall can be a pain to setup. Glad you got it working! ?
Al exKeymasterHappens to the best of us… ?
Al exKeymasterHi, and welcome. ?
In general, Win95 is much more stable than Win98. Most important piece of advice: always shut down your Win95 session properly, and when it says “it’s safe to turn your pc off” wait a couple of seconds before you do, because it’s actually not safe yet. And it’s best to back up your Windows image file regularly, in case it gets corrupted (wish it had been so easy back in the Win95 days).Regarding the game, there isn’t nuch advice we could give you. You should definitely reinstall the whole game, not just swap the iso image.
Al exKeymasterSounds weird. Are you trying to run the game from an sd card? And if so, have you requested sd card write access from gpobal settings in Magic Dosbox?
Anyway, here’s my cfg file: http://www.mediafire.com/file/tbaiv3lxzjpq9ky/HMISET.CFG/file
Just drop it into your daggerfall directory. If you run into further trouble, give us a shout. ?
Al exKeymasterGlad you could fix it. ? No need to thank me at least, I didn’t do anything. ?
Al exKeymasterLol, if you can get this up and running, please tell us about it. That’d be absolutely insane! ??
Al exKeymasterI’m surely stating the obvious, but isn’t there some kind of config option in the game? ?
Al exKeymasterNot that I’m aware of, sorry. AFAIK, that’s not possible in any Dosbox port, even on PC. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Al exKeymasterTo rule out a device issue, does it work in Dosbox on your PC (Windows/Linux)?
And just a shot in the dark, but have you enabled SVN core in your Win95 profile?
Al exKeymasterNo, that’s not currently not possible.
But anyway, for game logos, I’d recommend you head over to Mobygames, and grab the box cover art from there. It takes some time to set it all up, but looks really neat. ?
Al exKeymasterYou’re welcome. Hope everything’s working now. ?
Al exKeymasterThat’s possible, at least if I understood your question correctly. It’s a bit hidden under Voodoo Control – Assign gampead buttons. Try this:
1. Enter “add widgets” mode, and create a Deadly Strike widget
a. enter the widget properties. Check “Undetectable”, uncheck “Visible” (so you won’t trigger it accidentally)
b. scroll down to the bottom, click the orange “+” button
c. scroll down the list, and select “Target”
d. next, click the crosshair icon to the right of your newly added Target widget
e. select the spot on the screen you want your mouseclick to target, then press back button (or right mouse
f. save the widget by clicking the green checkmark2. go back to play mode, press back button (right mouse)
a. scroll down and click “Voodoo Control”
b. enable mapper (topmost checkbox)
c. Click on “Assign ganeoad buttons”
d. click the orange “+” button
e. press the keybpard key you want to map (yes, it accepts most keyboard keys as well, not only gamepad buttons)
f. click the grey box that says “none”, and select your Deadly Strike widget from the list
g. accept your changes by clicking the green checkmarkThat’s it. Now, whenever you press the assigned key, it will issue a mouse click to the designated position.
Al exKeymasterLol, yes. And the separate uwsound doesn’t improve things either. But at least it’s a great game, and that’s all that matters. ?
Al exKeymasterAh yes, that’s kinda confusing. I never understood why it had to be uinstall instead of just install. ?♂️
Al exKeymasterYou seem to kmow what you’re doing. ??
Though I fear that apart from cycles=max 125%, and some frameskip, there isn’t much you can do to improve performance. What device/cpu do you have? And how’s performance in other Win95 games, like e.g. Diablo, or Red Alert?
For Baldur’s Gate, I’d highly recommend the native Android port. It’s amazing, a fantastic adaption to touch screen devices.
