Hi,
Magic Dosbox is based on classic PC dosbox. I can’t tell if there is something wrong or is it normal. I will try to install the game and will see.
Yes, that could be;) This fix is for not rooted devices which has blocked write access for 3rd party apps.
How it works?
Start Global Settings and scroll down to section “SDCard and storages”. Android 5 gets new options “SD-Card permissions”. Under the title is button “Request permissions”.
This button calls standard android folder picker. In this picker switch to sdcard and pick folder where are your MS-DOS games and pick. After that your system allows to Magic Dosbox write access to this folder. This directory can be mounted like Drive C:\ now.
You can set access to whole sdcard, but this is strongly not recommended. It’s good to test this variant too, but please really backup your sdcard, or use another sdcard.
You should see picked path under the “Request permissions” button. If not, something is wrong – please report.
On earlier Android 5 versions happened that if the SDCard was without title then this picker caused crash. Title can be added during sdcard “format” phase. But this will delete whole sdcard, so beware.
After that, you will be able pick this special path in file manager. For example if you want set Drive C:\ in game profile. The special path is green colored.

TonyHmm, nedari sa mi rozchodit Knights and Merchants pod Win95. Windows kricia, ze chyba kniznica WS32_32.DLL. Neviem najst spravnu verziu pre win95.
Ale mam GoG verziu. GoG castokrat modifikuje ich hry pre novsie operacne systemy. Mozno treba najst starsiu verziu.
Oki tak sa mi podarilo rozchodit. Bohuzial to ide aj so vsetkymi vecami zapnutymi pre max rychlost dost pomaly;(

som rád že sa páči. Ale hlavná pochvala ide Dosbox teamu.
Knight and Merchants je hra pre win95. Dosbox vie pustiť aj windows. Ale emuluje ich pomaly. Treba na to silnejšie zariadenie. Na mojom Nvidia Shield tablete celkom dosť win hier beží dobre. Naozaj to záleží od zariadenia.
Skúsim si dnes nahodiť tú hru a dám vedieť. Mám win95 rozbehané, takže potrebujem nahodiť len hru. Ale až poobede keď sa vrátim z práce.

You probably mean the left axis joystick (right is used for mouse). The axis is from 0.00f(completely released) to 1.00f(completely pushed). Yes this is good idea. But first I must explain one limitation. During testing I got problems that joystick often didn’t catch these states. For example : You completely released the joystick, but dosbox received the information 0.15f instead 0.00f. This causes that arrows stayed pushed down even you released the joystick. Currently I use compromise – axis under 20% is released. Above 20% is pushed. It works fine. (I think it’s 20% – I must check the source code). So I can implement some virtual border around 50-60% in which I can push down secondary key. But border around 90% is unreliable.
Am I correct with left joystick? Please what game do you play?

Damn, this looks like solution! It exactly describes the issue – mouse is acting like touch screen. I didn’t know about that. I will try this after vacation. Well, I can hide this code, maybe one day will be useful. I can continue fixing the broken sdcard support for Android 5+.

sorry I don’t understand how I could miss this topic. These old games brings me memories on my childhood. I am very happy that current hardware allows to play these games anywhere. I remember how I played the “Warfare incorporated” game on very weak hardware with windows mobile 6 and how much I wanted to play Command & Conquer 1 or Lands of Lore on this device. But this was not possible five years ago. But current devices are another story;)
