    Im trying the sims 1 and it requires the cpu to be a pentium or it just wont start. With processor=pentium it works but crashes when loading ( still trying to figure out why ).

    I recall seeing processor=PENTIUM_SLOW on some .mgc … does this exist? why? what other proccesors can be typed aside the ones that appear on the guide when you create a custom config?

    This says it is tested and working. Havent tried myself ( no interest in the game ) but others from the list worked ok. The tutorial will be the same I guess…

    S7 edge exynos here on nougat 7.0 … my backup is in emulated/0/storage/dos/magicbox/ (moved the folder from ibside the app )

    So far 0 problems… I installed and uninstalled the app once just for trying the backup and it worked ok… the only problem was that the game links on my android desktop dissapeared when I uninstalled the app and the backup wont got em back… 67 icons on 12 folders :p

    Be careful with storing in /downloads… I think some apps like ccleaner by default clean that folder when performing device maintenance… I had problems in the past because of this.

    Good work!

    Cant really tell aside oc’eing ur soc or getting MDB to 120% cycles…and both heat up a lot.

    I’ve been trying some 3d games on windows and I guess nowadays devices just arent powerful enough.

    Cannot tell much about drivers, on win98 I used an image I found on 4pda.ru… my efforts to install my win98 cd where useless… you could plant potatoes on the scratches :p

    So far I got it working with dx 6.0c , sound blaster and s3 video (16 bit color and up to 1200×1080 res or so ) and I play sim tower and fallout 2 (gog’s).

    So far so good but I find it a bit unestable… freezes and crashes often while on the so… 0 while playing.

    Aside Lucasarts games, I think the ones that got me addicted were Fallout 1 and 2… god I spent lots of hours on those… i even once wiped EVERY npc on the game just for the fun of it :p

    Loved Pharaon, dungeon keeper, Darkseed 1 & 2… played loads of fps games… loved most of them… Doom used to scare me a lot when I was a child.

    I still play from time Castle of the Winds 1 and 2… if you like roguelikes this one is REALLY good 🙂

    Wish I had the time to play that much nowadays :p

    Im not sure but since everything is virtual, Im gonna say that games installed on windows hd wont go slower…

    I wont install em on windows images mostly because I want to have the images as clean as possible, and because windows images get corrupted easily on dosbox ( keep always upto date backups of the images… getting into a bootlop is QUITE easy ).

    My way is to create an IMG for the SO, and IMG with the game installed and the ISO inside if needed for drm check ( SO img on internal memory and game IMGs on SD card ), and to have dosbox on expert settings with the autoexec pointing to a .bat where I mount the internal memory/sd and windows drives and to another bat where I mount the game img and boot windows.

    May I ask what game are you tryng to run?

    Ive fought some already and got em to work (pharaon, starcraft, diablo 2… )

    From internet about that dll:

    -There is an official Window 95 update – “Winsock 2 for windows 95” – which can be got.

    Adding ws2_32.dll on its own will not work. Additionally, you should source any executable file (including DLLs) from a trusted source.

    Note: in my experience… adding standalone dlls only result in the apps asking for new ones and in the end… just not working. You need to update properly the os/directx/etc

    Thanks !

    It seems to me that FMV are choppy with 120% while everything else works ok… and it provides a noticeable boost in speed and device temp 😛

    Q:

    I got this for 120%

    cputype=pentium_mmx
    cycles=max 120%
    cycleup=500
    cycledown=500
    isapnpbios=true

    Is it correct? (Using it for win 95/98 and diablo 2)

    Is there any way to activate it from the gui not using advanced settings??

    I do a lot of emulation and in my experience, snapdragon is quite better than exynos for emulation and gaming in general… specially since opengl drivers for the mali gpu are crap. As for Dosbox in particular I have no idea :p

    The other problem with exynos is the heavy temp throttling it suffers… performance drops easily 20-30% in 15-20 seconds of any demanding game.
