Good question actually. I just tried, and I’m unable to get more than 64MB, no matter what I put in expert settings. ?

Not sure about gamepad. But as for widgets, simply create an Alt widget, then place a Ctrl widget on top, and configure it as non-blocking.

Good point. Btw, for perfect quality, make sure you’re using 44.1 or 48 kHz. At 22.5 kHz, MT-32 emulation sounds a bit rough.

Magic Dosbox already supports MT32, as well as General Midi. You can enable it either in the sounds settings, or, with more advanced tweaking options, in expert settings. All you need is the (copy protected) MT32 ROM files. 🙂

Yes, there’s a “Toggle” option if you scroll down a bit in the key widget settings. Just tested, it’s working. ?

Hey @xaxa, no problem at all. ?
Personally, I don’t think it’s a big deal, and the Win95 image has been up on XDA for years now. I just don’t want to cause any risk to this forum.

Therefore, I also removed the links to the Win95/Win98lite images I posted myself. You’re absolutely right about that, I can’t go ahead and tell you off for filesharing requests, while I’m linking to a Win95 image myself. ?

SVN core is experimental. It does add some nice features, such as save states, but on the other hand it can cause certain issues. Strangely, it seems to be working for me, but if you can fix it by deselecting SVN, just do so. Win3.11 was made for XT/AT computers, so any extra feature SVN core may provide is way more advanced than these machines were back in the day. 😉

@xaxa please don’t ask for illegal file sharing on the forum. I know it’s rather ridiculous, it’s an ancient OS, and MS is unlikely to punish a single old-school user. But technically, it’s still piracy, so it can’t be tolerated here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m still trying to figure out a way to install it, I don’t know why it was working years ago, and now it isn’t. But it’s probably some simple thing I’m overlooking.

I’ll try again, following these two tutorials:

    Np, you’re welcome.
One question in return: how did you manage to get Win95 working properly? I do have a working image from years ago, but I can’t for the life of me remember how to set it up. I’m always getting a black screen unless I boot in Safe Mode, it’s somehow related to the com ports. And I can’t setup the SVGA drivers in Android.
Is there a certain driver package I need?

Iirc, I didn”t even install Diablo 2 properly. It should be enough to copy all gane files to the 2GB inage on your PC (e.g. with UltraISO), then mount it in Dosboylx, and launch the exe. Seems the game doesn’t require any registry entries.

You don’t really need more. I’d suggest you take an empty 2GB image, and mount it as secondary hard drive D:.
This way, you can mount different 2GB images in different profiles, and basically install as many games in Win95 as you like. I’ve got 9 2GB images (LinksLS98, MM6 & Diablo, AoE1 & AoE2, Red Alert & Starcraft, Half-Life & Dungeon Keeper Gold, Thief & Commandos, System Shock 2 & Game Net Match, Alpha Centauri, Diablo 2). I’m keeping all these on my external sd, and mount the images as I need them.
As a result, I have all these games on my Win95 desktop, but can only launch the one or two games that are stored on the currently mounted D: drive.

It is. You obviously need an insane amount of cpu power to make 3D games playable.
The S7 Exynos is about as fast as a 2nd/3rd gen Core i5 (!), according to Geekbench. And for some reason, it’s performing parricularly well when running Dosbox compared to other chipsets. But it still has its limits.
