Lol, same. First thing I did when I got my Galaxy watch was install Magic Dosbox, and run Fate of Atlantis. Useless, but the tinkering was fun. 😉
Magic Dosbox is pretty much the only emulator in the world that allows any game to be played properly on a touch screen. It’s hands down my favorite Android apps. 👍Al exKeymasterYeah, Linux would be my go-to OS. Just got my Steam Deck last week, and it’s amazing! Not suitable for casual smartphone users, but for serious PC gamers, it’s a revelation. 😀
Al exKeymasterHave you tried clearing the app cache? Or, if that doesn’t work, also clear app data (or uninstall+reinstall)? Make sure to backup everything before you try that though, you never know what Android will decide to delete from your file system.
God,i wish Google would stop to fix what ain’t broken. 🤬Al exKeymasterYou mean Magic the Gathering? That’s a Windows game, so it’s obviously not supported in Dosbox. 😉
You might be able to run it in Win95/Win98 though. The setup process is pretty complicated, but there’s a tutorial video here on the website. 🙂Al exKeymasterThanks, added. 🙂
Al exKeymasterMust’ve been temporary. I just tried, and was able to download the file just fine. 🙂👍
Al exKeymasterSeems to indicate that something’s wrong with your game installation in Dosbox. Daggerfall can be quite a pain in the ass to setup.
There are detailed setup instructions on the official download page, and you need to follow them to the letter.Al exKeymasterThank you very much! 🙂
Al exKeymasterThe Fold 3? That’s the perfect device for DOS emulation, I’m a bit jelaous. 😉
And that’s a great collection of games. 👍Al exKeymasterThere was a similar issue some days ago, where my upload had been turned into a zip file by the cloud storage provider. Maybe because .mgc files are indeed zip files, but that’s really annoying.
Anyway. You have to navigate to your /Download folder (or wherever you saved the file to) with a file explorer, and rename the file from .zip to .mgc, in order to make it visible for Magic Dosbox.
Al exKeymasterYou don’t have to change anything in that file, you need to mount it instead of the game.gog file. These two are relabelled .cue and .bin files, and Riva needs the .cue file, probably because it’s using cd audio.
Al exKeymasterGlad it’s working. I don’t know why that happened. 😅
Al exKeymasterI just tried. For some obscure reason, the file is saved with a .mgc.zip extension, so you need to remove the .zip part with a file explorer. Then Magic Dosbox will be able to find it.
Al exKeymasterI just tried it on a Galaxy S10e, running the latest Android 12 update, and it’s working just fine. Looks like a weird issue with your particular game version. Really odd though how it only seems to happen on some OS versions on your devices.
Al exKeymasterInteresting. Must be a Tab A specific issue, because it’s working on other Samsung devices on Android 11+. Really weird though.
