Ok, I tried on Shield Tv. At vga max settings is perfectly fluent. At svga max settings is almoat playable, however I feel fps drop. I used tweaks : sound blaster 2.0 instead sb16 and i set cycles=max 120%

I think, magic dosbox has more optimizations then desktop dosbox. Big difference is caused by cpu settings. Cpu power plan is different on tablet and on desktop pc. Or nvidia shield tv (which has not battery and is still connected to power) and shield tablet which optimizes cpu usage in runtime.

As was said in benchmark thread, switching to governor gains more stable cpu speed. And in expert settings you can set cycles=max 120%

Btw, can you help me with controls in that game? How can I get car moving?

Score 1300 and 2250 is big difference. I can try the game on my shield tablet with score 1100 and will see. And you compare two very different operating systems and cpu architectures. See from table how big difference is between nvidia cpu and snapdragon. And see how was alex able tune his note 4. It is all about cpu and how is utilized by system.

Edit : I run it on my tablet, but I dont know how to control car. Car wont move. Probably I don’t know how to setup it. But I see how cars are driving around me and all is fluent. Then I switched to svga and it is a bit slower but seems still well playable. I used sound blaster 2.0 and svn core.

Which program do you use for changing cpu to governor?

I checked it, but its weird, I can’t reproduce it. I use K400+ keyboard. What is your keyboard? Maybe I can create simple application for logging pressed keys. Then we can see what is your keyboard sending to device.

Hi, magic dosbox has two cores, but none is based on daum. Default core uses cpu improvement implemented in daum, but that’s all.

Dosbox config is created from GUI settings or Expert settings in runtime. Result is saved to file before each start. There is no other file.

Hi, on rooted devices you can change cursor texture for transparent picture, else no. Android 8 adds this feature, but it is not now fully implemented in magic dosbox, because emulator does not support it correctly, we need device with android 8 on debugger.

Hmm, ok, I am a bit confused, so governor is not default cpu setting? How should I fix table? I like to have in “Score” column value which can be reached without rooting (else I want to have message in “tweak” column what I did)

You are right, there is one bug. You must leave .MagicBox on storage which is read-write for all apps (for example internal storage or sdcard after applying sdcard fix on rooted device).

I fixed sdcard write access only for running game, no for data directory.

Now you can place dos games to sdcard, for example to games/dos and request permissions. This will work.

Don’t hurry. We should use the same config and probably same doom binaries. I recommend these steps :

    1. create new profile
    2. set memory to 16
    3. Sound Blaster 16 (sound blaster 2 is faster, but does not work in all games – Fallout 1, Win95)
    4. automatic performance ON
    5. svn core ON
