Al exKeymaster
I’ll have a look. Some old DOS games did some really weird stuff to mouse movement. Ultima Underworld is a PITA, too. 😉
Al exKeymasterMediatek quad core 1 GHz? I’m interested its performance. Esepcially compared to the entry-level Snapdragon chipsets.
Doom should run fine, though. I could play that already on my old Galaxy S1 years ago.Al exKeymasterThey’re using this strange 640×460 16 colour mode. Try Advanced options -> Manual mouse correction, or mouse sensitivity.
Al exKeymasterWhat phone/cpu do you have?
Al exKeymasterCool, nice layout! ?
@Tony: there’s a mod called XCDSHOCK. Try this, I hope I gathered all the necessary files: https://www.mediafire.com/file/keh2yrbfloerij1/XCDSHOCK.zip
Al exKeymasterThat’s pretty neat. I’m using Amazon Drive, with unlimited storage – but there’s no file monitoring / custom folder sync option, at least none I’m aware of.
Al exKeymasterYeah, I remember how this game was very unforgiving and kinda hectic in the heat of battle. 😉
Al exKeymasterAs long as it’s working, it’s fine. I was using a whole bunch of batch files with AnDosbox years ago, and still got them lying around in my games dir. 🙂
Hint for the future: you can use the “Get” button (under “Software”, directly above expert settings) to generate a full .conf file into clipboard. Then you can open expert settings, mark all, and paste the clipboard.
Al exKeymasterCan’t you just add this to the [autoexec] section of dosbox.conf (=expert settings)?
Al exKeymasterWhy not? That would be the easiest way.
And zoom point & size would be defined by the pre-selected zoom area. So if you draw a zoom box around the four sliders, they will be zoomed to fullscreen when you tap the widget. If you draw another one e.g. around the much larger game window, the zoom will be much less pronounced.
You know, I’m thinking of something similar to the custom mouse pointer area feature.Al exKeymasterThat does actually sound like a good idea IMHO. 🙂
Al exKeymasterYou mean the zoom feature? You can set it to double click in Gesture options, I’m finding that more useful than the default. But this can lead to accidental zooming, of course, if you tap the screen repeatedly to shoot something.
But damn, you’re right about the sliders. I could’ve sworn there’s a keyboard shortcut for that, but Syndicate seems to be 100% mouse-driven. Guess it was pretty innovative and fancy back then not to press any keyboard keys… ?
Apart from that, your workaround sounds very good. That’s what the Target widget was designed for. And I second the request for Target widget integration into Looper widget. ?Al exKeymasterTry this: http://www.mediafire.com/file/cytoa08xapbrd8m/Automatic_keyboard.mgc
Info: that’s a simple Deadly Strike widget with Black Magic function. Deadly Strike is a batch widget, Black Magic applies special functionalities. The naming comes from the playful default Fantasy theme, it’s different when you chose Standard theme. ?
Here’s how to do it:
1. Enter Design mode (press back key, “Add virtual buttons”)
2. Long tap screen, chose “Deadly Strike” widget
3. Tap this newly created widget, then tap the small red quill in the pop-up menu window
4. Scroll down, check “Run at start”, then tap the “+” button
5. Select “Black Magic”
6. Tap the newly created Black Magic entry, then select either keyboard or Dosbox keyboard.
7. Move the icon via drag and drop, and rename / change font and background color etc. to your liking
8. Save layout, restart
Al exKeymasterHave you tried the built-in keyboard in Magic Dosbox? Seems to be working there.
Maybe the keyboard you’re using doesn’t send the correct keystrokes to the app?Al exKeymasterCheck out my AoE and Ultima 5 layouts for example. You can use Deadly Strike / Ghostly Presence to switch easily between complex layouts.
