My S9+ has the Exynos 9810 chipset. As I said, you need to tweak the crap out of the device, Samsung completely messed up there. What I did:
    1. root
    2. installed GLTools
    3. set fake cpu profile 1 cpu core (thus locking Magic Dosbox to the first Mongoose core, running at 2.7 GHz)
    4. disabled power saving

Still, the results are very inconsistent. The cpu governor keeps downclocking the cpu even at moderate temperatures (<60°C), so my results are usually between 550-600.
Performance governor is also completely broken on Exynos. It's only available in certain custom kernels, and it's highly unstable, too.

Shouldn’t be a problem. Afaik, Magic Dosbox doesn’t consume battery in the background.
I actually got that hint from the Beamdog devs, when I reported serious fps drops in Neverwinter Nights. The game kept being forced into power saving mode, causing massive performance issues, but this little trick fixed it. So it might also help with Magic Dosbox.

Great to see this is finally coming to the official version! ??

Yeah, SD 855, Exynos 9820, Kirin 980. All three should deliver amazing performance:

Edit: just saw the Kirin is already in the list, and falls a bit short. Most likely due to cpu management, it’s slowing the Exynos 9810 down as well. I managed to squeeze a mindblowing 424 realtics score out of my S9+, but you need root, and a lot of tweaking for that.

@flamming_python it might be Android power management interfering. It tends to move processes to power saving cores.

Go to app settings -> 3 dot menu top right -> Special Access -> Optimize Battery Usage
Then select “All apps”, scroll down and uncheck Magic Dosbox.

You’re welcome. Tbh, there are so many options and widgets by now, it’s easy to lose track. Back in the day, almost every DOS coder did something special, so the amount of widgets has grown a lot with every new user request. ?

The MNouse touch widget has a “Left+Right button” config option, doesn’t that do what you’re looking for? I don’t have cannon fodder to check if that actually works, but I’ll see if I can find another game or a test program I can run some tests with.

Yes, something to trigger a mouse reset automatically as soon as the right click (finger on display) ends. It would probably still feel like a workaround though, because the mouse reset takes about half a second to complete. It’s all these annoying things DOS programmers did back then that make mouse emulation so difficult. ?‍♂️

If you want to use absolute mouse, simply do so as suggested above: setup a “Special” widget, and configure it as Mouse Reset. All you have to do is tap it once after you’ve finished scrolling, and the mouse pointer will be aligned again.

Edit: actually, I see you already realized and commented on this, sorry. ?
I’ll try to think about some sort of automation, not quite sure yet how to do that.

This is driving me nuts… I hate when computers don’t act as they should. ??

Are you using a default Daggerfall installation? The download from the Bethesda homepage, with no additional configuration?

Weird. Here’s how it’s supposed to work:

So you didn’t change anything at all in the profile settings except game path?

Hm, no. It’s working, no idea what I did. I guess it’s because I loaded an indoor savegame in the throneroom. I can’t draw my weapon there for sure, but movement is fine. Outdoors, I did a quick test, drew the weapon, and tried all three attack modes. All three are working for me.

Just to make sure, have you downloaded my profile from the first post, or the altered one above with JitaDesWadyas’ additions?

Strange, I’ve launched the game on my S9+ (first time, I don’t play Daggerfall anymore), and I can’t even move. I created the layout on an S7 edge back, I wonder if something got messed up due to the 16:9 -> 18,5:9 screen ratio conversion? Will have to look into it. Or maybe I jsut have to reconfigure my Daggerfall installation. ?
