Btw, since this version must be all paths updated – include paths to iso files. And iso files must be placed in folders where mdosbox has granted permissions.

Cores are same like before. Only labels are changed. Previously there was checkbox, now there is spinner menu. It is because in developer version I use additional cores which are not in official release, but they can be there in the future. I needed to handle more then 2 cores.
V74 core is the same like unchecked checkbox “svn” in previous version. It is based on desktop dosbox 0.74 with additional functions for win95 compatibility
V4180 is the same like checked “svn” checkbox. It is based on svn 4180, it includes save states support.
I check permissions in runtime. The post on stackoverflow is about internal storage, not sdcard. This is different access. But I have huawei phone with android 9. I will try it. Or is it related to android 8.1 only?
Btw, internal storage works fine? I mean, for example /storage/emulated/0/Games
What comes on my mind is that sdcard permission granted in global settings is lost after restart or so and should be re-granted. This I dont check in runtime.

Ah allright. To be sure, your games are on removable sdcard? If yes, they are in public folder in private? If in public then did you granted sdcard permissions in global setting
Hi, thanks for report. This is new to me. I did not notice any specific changes to sdcard on android 8.1. I dont have device with android 8.1, but i can test it in emulator. I now worked a lot on storages support from android 11 and version is not yet out. But this is different.
Do you mean to have data on sdcard on public location or in /android/data/bruenor.magicbox ?
Hm, but wait, there is no way how magic dosbox can save state on sdcard? Only new (still unreleased) version can do it. With save state you mean “Save State” from general settings menu, or the way how game saves self?
Hm, under “Sound, video and game controllers” in device manager should be mpu-401 compatible device.

No, sadly this is not supported. The only thing what you can is to install win95 on 2gb hdd as drive C + 2gb as drive D, if you want more space.
Yes, the fix is specific to lite version, you must update to v85. You can check it in in-app manual changelog.
Btw, If you do not see confirm button, do not worry, tap on the place where it should be. It is there, only is invisible 🙂 That’s the bug in android theme. And orientation change should make re-appear the button too.
Paid version has not yet beta. But this week I will try release full version for limit count of users. I don’t want to release it for all, because goes out the biggest change over all history of mdosbox – SAF.

Android 12 has problem in themes. This bugs affects all applications, google released fix, but not all devices get it. Can you join beta testing on google play for free version? There is beta with workaround which fixes it. Please let me know.

I must say, I like huawei gallery much more. And I can communicate with real people if I have a problem. Google Play’s support is non existent and they bring more and more stupid restrictions which must developers implement and if you fall into problems then you will not get help, you are sanctioned if you did something wrong (and you probably dont know what you did, and if you ask then answer is : read docs)
