No problem, you’re welcome. But that’s not very satisfying, there must be a way. Could be related to the way cd-rom emulation is executed on your phone’s storage.

Let’s wait for a more official statement. I’m only moderator (DOSBox enthusiast, but no coder), maybe Tony (the dev) has a better idea. ?

    Holy crap…
Maybe it’s as easy as a broken iso? The one I found on archive.org is working. Can’t share any links here, and I’ve deleted it already anyway. But a Google search for NBA 95 live iso should get you there. ?

Nevermind about the freesize cap. The default 750 MB cap is working. Freesize is only intended to fix a bug in some games that can’t handle the large sizes of modern hard drives / sd cards. So freesize will fool the game into believing you have only e.g. 750 MB available, even when your sd card size is actually 64 or 128 GB.

The nba95.exe is only available after installation. What you need to do for now is, bind your own iso into the profile, then tap the “Choose” button in the Setup section, and select install.exe from the image. Hit the green confirm button to save the profile, and get back to the main menu.
Then, tap & hold the profile again, select “Edit”. Then tap “Setup” in the lower left corner.

Please try this profile, and remember to correct the mountings (they point to my external sd): https://www.mediafire.com/download/gdfac27jckjng5b

Lol, all these features that keep being added… I just realized that when you hit the small cogwheel next to the “Choose” button (main program and setup), you can select freesize from there.
You should uncheck expert settings again for now, because it will override all your settings, and make things more complicated.

Normally, I would say your iso image is corrupt. But it strikes me as weird that Daggerfall is acting up just the same.

For testing purposes, I’ve grabbed an iso from archive.org, and it worked out of the box: create new profile, enable cd-rom, mount the image, chose install.exe from the image as setup file, save profile.
Then edit it again, and launch the setup. No need for loadfix, and it installed fine with default settings. Game then launched and played without any issues, too. ?

If you already have full access, then you don’t need to request it again. I just wanted to make sure, because that would’ve been easy to correct.

Does it also happen when you mount a directory on your internal sd, and also mount the iso from there?

Just an idea: have you already granted sd card r/w permissions from Global Settings? From the main menu, tap the cogwheel, then Global Settings, then Request permissions. You can select your external sd from the Android file dialogue, and give write permission to Magic Dosbox.
That’s a security feature Google introduced a while ago. Without it, games that want to write stuff to disk will act weird.

You can copy&paste the contents of your expert settings here, maybe we can figure it out.
Sadly, I don’t own the game myself, so I can’t test. But maybe there’s an easy tweak. ?

I’m able to reproduce it. Tbh, mounting drives with numbers has never really worked for me, and I never felt like figuring it out, not even in Win32 Dosbox. I always went with drive letters, to avoid the issue altogether. Do you need that particular way of mounting for something?

You don’t have to delete anything. It’s a bug in the game, there’s actually too much free disk space, so it freaks out.
Try the freesize command (append “-freesize 1024” to your mounting line), to simulate a lower, fixed amount of free storage.

He’s talking about a hardware keyboard.
The problem seems to be that the Blackberry devs tried to be smart, and made it act like a normal Android soft keyboard. Is there any way for you to change/disable that in your phone’s settings, @jens?

    Hi,
no idea if that’s in the official sources, or experimental ykhwong-style stuff. But have you tried to add the NE2000 config lines to expert settings, and see if it works?
