Al exKeymasterWow, very nice! Looks like you put a lot of work into this one, thanks for sharing. ??
Al exKeymasterU6 works perfectly fine even on a 10 years old phone. It only needs 3000 cycles to run properly, it’s extremely lightweight. I’ve played it on numerous devices, including an old Galaxy S1 (1 GHz single core cpu), and a Galaxy Tab E (1.3 GHz no-name bullshit cpu). Both of these lowest-possible-end devices are already capable of running Warcraft II btw. So all you need to do is create a new game profile, set cycles 3000, and you’re good to go. 🙂
Al exKeymasterWell, for starters, you could try the two things I suggested above. 🙂
Al exKeymasterOk. Cpuld you tell us please which steps you tried so far to solve the issue? Like turning SVN core on/off, setting up the game in expert settings, stuff like that?
Al exKeymasterHard to say, Win95 isn’t even officially supported in Dosbox. Does it work on PC?
Al exKeymasterVery nice! ??
Al exKeymasterSomething wrong with your mountings, obviously. I’m using the GoG version, but the game.gog file I mount is just a renamed iso file.
Al exKeymasterLol, that’s why I said “legal issues aside”. Besides the fact that abandonware is technically illegal and considered piracy, the main problem is, that these downloads are often repacked/stripped down/converted somehow, and they’re almost always borked. That’s why it’s not advised (on a pure technical, non-legal level) to ask for support on abandonware downloads: it’s impossible to fix broken downloads. ?
Anyway, glad you got it working, have fun! ?
Al exKeymasterSounds like a bad download. Abandonware is always priblematic (legal issues aside), so I’d suggest you get the gane on gog.com, this way you can make sure all game files are fine.
Al exKeymasterHave you tried to reconfigure sound with setsound.bat?
Al exKeymaster@stats it’s most likely something simple. There is no sound on option, all you can do is select which soundcard you want to use. Make sure you have MIDI/MT32 disabled, and use the default Soundblaster 16.
It’s virtually impossible to break the sound emulation in Magic Dosbox on app level, it must be something in the game config.
For comparison, what happens when you play other games?
Al exKeymasterOnly on low end devices. The same goes for settings such as prebuffer and sample rate. Made a noticeable difference on my Note 4, whereas on S7 and S9, it doesn’t really matter.
Also, sound issues will arise if you’re using a fixed cycles setting that’s overloading your cpu.
Al exKeymasterYeah, I upgraded a while ago, but then realized that Xposed wasn’t available yet. So I went back to Oreo agaain, I wouldn’t want to miss out on all the great features and addons. 🙂
Al exKeymasterGlad it’s working for you now. The reason why I asked about internal storage was that I suspected a faulty sd card. But since the issue is gone now… ?
Al exKeymasterIt’s pretty unstable on the Exynos, results can vary greatly. A cool cpu and max performance settings do help, but still, I’m getting anything between 680, and 980.
With root access and a couple of tweaks, things get better, and potentially faster. But the benchmark app suffers badly fron the power saving issue that’s being discussed in another thread. Unless I’m lucky, or forcing performance with root access, the process keeps being offloaded onto the low power cpu cores, which results in rather high scores.
The Exynos 9810 is kind of a mixed bag for me. It’s capable of insane performance (I got as low as 425 realtics with the Doom timedemo in Magic Dosbox), but the instability of the scores is incredibly annoying.
