That makes sense. SVGA with higher pixel count is more demanding. I’ll run some Quake SVGA benchmarks, and see if there’s a difference (= start Quake, set res to 640×480, them run “timedemo demo3” from console with and without Pixel Trap enabled).

Troubleshooting this issue is quite tricky, as I don’t own the game myself. According to Mobygames though, it shipped on 4 CDs, so you’ll need to mount all 4 of them, and swap them as needed. Or you can try to copy the contents of all 4 CDs to a folder on your phone, and mount that folder as CD-ROM. If you’re lucky that’ll work, and save you the hassle of handling multiple CD images. ?

I just re-read your inital post. Copying everything from CD to disk might not be the same as a full install. You should mount the cd image instead, and install the game from there within Magic Dosbox.

No, I was being stupid. All I had to do was run the game with realms.bat instead of roth.exe. Demo is running fine in official DOSBox and Magic DOSBox.

So, when you launch the game, what exactly happens? Does Magic Dosbox crash with a force close error message? Or are you simply dropped out of the game?

Maybe you could also post your settings here, so we can have a closer look?

Thank you very much, I also added it to the Master list. ?

Dang, it’s doing the same on my PC. Seems to be a general DOSBox issue, not Magic Dosbox related. The weird thing is, according to the DOSBox compatibility list, it should run fine. Will do some more digging.

Mh, I tried the demo, and it drops me back to the DOS prompt whenever I launch the game. I’ll have to do some testing on my Windows laptop to see if anything can be done about it.

Interesting. I’ll need to do some side-by-side comparison, but on my S9+, I can’t notice any real slowdowns. Something like 1-3%, but that’s almost completely negligible.

Those were my favourite comics back then, along with Asterix. ?
Pixel Trap will hopefully be included in the next update. It’s running pretty stable, and it’s such a great feature, incredibly useful. ?

No, you didn’t. It’s just that we’ve been testing this exact feature over the past months. ?

I think you need to mount the cd image first, and install the game from there.
