ParticipantHere is the issue I have been getting:

Regular D1 seems to work fine. I have tried ending explorer.exe in the task manager but it didn’t solve the issue.
Any advice?

Al exKeymasterWin95 isn’t officially supported in Dosbox, so all kinds of weird stuff can happen.
Does it work in the desktop version of Dosbox (Windows/Linux)?One thing you can try is the “SVN Core” setting in your profile configuration.

adminKeymastermaybe it has something to do with this :
https://sourceforge.net/p/dosbox/bugs/347/sdl lib was dropped in magic dosbox, but some parts were taken from sdl

Mr.scienceman2000ParticipantWhich video driver you use? Use offical s3trio64 not one came with win95. Change desktop color depht to 16bit, make sure that cputype is pentium. It seems that system try to use 32bit colors and that cause that issue.

ParticipantTried “SVN Core” and still had the same color issue. Seems like it also messed up the control scheme I am using.
I’m on the s3trio 32/64 driver shown in the Magicbox tutorial video and my CPU is Pentium.
I set the color depth in the display options to “High Color (16-bit)”. Now it’s saying that it is unable to initialize my video card using Direct X. Specifically it asks for Direct X 3.0 or 2.0 from the install disc, which I do not have in iso form.
In the tutorial(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RgCw7Xnnnk) what version of Direct X is installed? How would I go about uninstalling it to set up Direct X 3.0?

Al exKeymasterYou can download DirectX 8a from here: https://www.fileplanet.com/112836/110000/fileinfo/DirectX-8.0a-for-Win95
Just copy it into an ISO image, e.g. with UltraISO.
Not sure if this will actually fix the colour issue, but it never hurts to be up to date. Well, sort of. ?

ParticipantDirect X 8.0 didn’t do the trick unfortunately. Maybe the problem is that I need an older version of Direct X that they recommend? The Exact Error says this:
“DDERR_NOEXCLUSIVEMODE
at: dx.cpp line 183”The Direct Draw Error window also says that I may need to use the SETUP.EXE from the Diablo CD, but I did not use an ISO to install the game, so I do not have access to this file.

adminKeymasterI am not sure, i experienced the same issue in daum, but it was fixed later in sdl. I must debug it, it has something todo with 16 and 32 bpp
