Hi,
I’m a very, very recent registered user of these for forums, although I’ve consulted them sometimes in the past.
Because it seems rude to me to pop out of nowhere a start asking questions, a brief introduction is needed.I started gaming on spectrum, and some years later on PC, the first PC game I played was Prince of Persia on a Schneider EuroPC, but what really hooked me on to games was playing Eye of the Beholder 2 on PC. Since then I started playing PC games, being that my go to genres where RPGs , RTSs and graphical adventures.
I have a lot of great memories from those times, playing Dune II, Monkey Island, Ultima 7, etc. I’m a little biased towards Westwood Studios because they made several of my favorite games, but I’ve always kept up to date in terms of gaming, mainly solo gaming with some MMOs in the mix ( where I play solo, but i do enjoy the scope of an MMO ).
Nostalgia kicked in and I have a retroid pocked 3+ and an 8 inches Aldocube 50 pro just for emulation on the go and this is where I first came in contact with Magic box. Great experience, amazing control customisation, I could not be happier, it was money very well spent for all the hours of fun.
Recently I saw that Apple started allowing emulation software in their IOS “ecosystem”, and I downloaded retroarch to my Ipad pro ( bigger screen, faster resources, why not! ) but although retroarch is a great piece of software and doxbox pure very good emulation core, I think that Magic Dox box is way better.
For example control wise, nothing beats magic doxbox features, absolute mouse for touch screen works almost flawlessly while in Dosbox pure it simple doesn’t work with some games ( ultima underworld games for example )
After the long introduction, and sorry about that, my question is, do you plan to release magic doxbox to IOS ?
Knowing that developing stuff for IOS is annoying, due to their draconic app review, the need to have a mac to run xcode, price tag to become a IOS developer and overall restrictions on the software, one might hope that it happens.
Thank you for your time and I hope I’ve posted this on the right category!

Sorry for replying to my own thread, but in the last days there have been some developments regarding Apple acceptance of Dos related emulators and in the typical Apple fashion its a “No” to dos emulators on IOS.
Here is the link to the recent The Verge article about it:
https://www.theverge.com/2024/6/24/24185066/apple-pc-dos-emulators-ios-rejectionFrom this article, something like Magic Dosbox will never get through Apple review at this moment ( doxbox pure in retroarch is still available, lets see for how long ).
This makes my question useless because its not in the hands of the developers.
Thank you for your attention, I will keep using Magic Doxbox on Android because its the best DOS emulator available 😀4. July 2024 at 11:35 #11113adminKeymasterHi,
unfortunatelly no, just like you discovered. Whole draconic efford will go to dev/null, only you never know when…running executables is something what they mark as dangerous
Please can I ask? Does retroid pocked 3 has 64bit cpu?
4. July 2024 at 19:55 #11114karunsunParticipantHi,
First of all, thank you for your answer, its unfortunate that Apple sticks to nonsense rules that cannot be reasoned with.
Regarding your question, the Retroid pocket 3+ I have shows a kernel architecture of aarch64 on CPUZ.
Also, going into advanced settings on Magic Doxbox I get ARM-V8 lib on the bottom of the window. So it seems that its a 64bit CPU ( 2x ARM Cortex-A75 and 6x ARM Cortex-A55 with a Mali-G52 GPU)
I can share more info if you needed.PS: Nice image of Bruenor Battlehammer on your avatar… my nick “Karunsun” is an abbreviated version of Khelben “Blackstaff” Arunsun, Forgotten Realms FTW!
5. July 2024 at 7:39 #11115adminKeymasterHi,
thank you very much, I ask, because 32bit libraries are obsolete and I want drop them from binaries, but I want to be sure.
Bruenor is smart and brave dwarf, all elves cower in fear when they hear his name! Welcome Khelben, pfrrr…another mage what hides behind the magic
