duke3d.exeParticipant
Even at 320×240 is still pretty damn laggy. Fps slowdowns… im pretty dissapointed with how bad it runs and im using the european S7 which is better since it has the faster exynos cpu and still its pretty damn bad.
duke3d.exeParticipantIs this currently the best way possible to play Duke3d? im just asking if its the most updated layout. Also when I press the mouse am button (10) player just starts walking. I can’t make the player look up and down.
Comparing this to the Delta Touch approach (the best android port for Doom) the left controls in your setup are like pressing keys. On the Delta Touch layour the left controls are like moving with a mouse, so it’s not either running very fast or nothing at all (binary). Could you try setting this up? like this:
Btw, 800×600 is so slow and im using a galaxy s7… can I make it smooth?
duke3d.exeParticipantI tried:
mount d /storage/emulated/0/Download/Z -t cdrom
It mounted succesfully but I still get the same error. What checkbox are you talking about?
duke3d.exeParticipantThe game is on the Downloads folder from the memory phone.
The specific error is:
“Critical File Missing: level01.map
Please Ensure CD is in drive, and door is closed”So looks like I need the iso file? I don’t have it. I have the folder. On the magic dosbox instructions it mentions a way to add a folder as if it was a CD but I dont know how to do that.
duke3d.exeParticipantCan someone make a gameplay video showcasing the new layout?
duke3d.exeParticipantCan any of you record a video playing Duke 3D with the layout? Like this:
I just want to see how the tracking with the fingers will look like specially while strafing and turning and shoting at the same time.
duke3d.exeParticipantCan you record a video playing? one with aiming up/down.
duke3d.exeParticipantCan you record a video playing? I mean a video of your actual fingers seen with the phone, not an on-screen video, to see how it plays.
duke3d.exeParticipantIf you need individual keys to go forward/backward/strafing then you can’t do diagonal movements… this is a big problem with fps.
Unless you can press at the same time forward+left/forward+right/backward+left/backward+right buttons, kind of like the controls for the PSX which had separate buttons but you could press them at the same time:
Im not sure how that would turn out in a touchscreen tho.
Also please include some default profiles so we can select them and start playing and spend as less time as possible tweaking. Like a “fps button layout” profile, another one for RTS..etc.
duke3d.exeParticipant#5873 Not really, you can’t properly play a fps without Beloko’s controls on a touchscreen. I hope this turns out right.
duke3d.exeParticipantHow do I test? is it already released?
duke3d.exeParticipantThis looks good, but from what I understand, when you stop pressing, the crosshair is centered… the idea is to have mouse toggled on constantly, so the left joystick acts as a mouse.. it should be playable now tho, since the main problem was that you couldn’t strafe while shooting. You should have recorded yourself killing some Fat Commanders to demonstrate dodging projectiles while shooting.. this takes some skills to do with a touchscreen tho :p
I will definitely buy it once it’s released.
duke3d.exeParticipantWell it would need to be a “while” function, so while ON_TOUCH_DONW enable mouse look with said widget too… im not sure I would do that but that’s the idea. You should play Doom first with Delta Touch to see it for yourself. Use the GzDoom port (Delta Touch has many ports).
duke3d.exeParticipantBeloko renamed his port from Doom Touch to Delta Touch, it’s back on the Play Store and updated. Get it and test for yourself to see how good controls are.
duke3d.exeParticipantAsk someone to record yourself playing or buy a tripod or something..
